Madonna
Just as I was hoping, according to Billboard, Madonna will commence her 9th tour (7th World Wide) entitled the Madonna 2012 World Tour. The tour will begin on May 29th in Tel Aviv, Israel and will be her most extensive tour ever (due to of number of dates), according to Arthur Fogel, CEO of Live Nation Global Touring. The tour will also hit Australia for the 1st time in 20 years, as well as places she’s never been before.
The Madonna 2012 World Tour comes in support of her upcoming 12th studio album MDNA, and will be her 5th tour with Fogel and Live Nation. Her last tour, 2008-2009′s Sticky & Sweet Tour, grossed over $408 million — the highest grossing tour for a solo artist and the third-highest of all time.
The tour will play 26 European markets, including London, Paris and Milan, before making it’s way here to U.S. on August 28th in Philadelphia. There will be a total of 26 shows in North America, including a September 6th show at New York’s Yankee Stadium, and an October 10th show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Madonna will play in the states just before Thanksgiving, head to Latin America to tour until the holidays, then wrap the tour in Australia in early 2013. The entire tour consists of close to 90 shows, which would be the most ever for Madonna; Sticky & Sweet had 85 dates.
Tickets are set to go on sale on February 10th in Tel Aviv and the U.K., with North American tickets going on sale beginning February 13th at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.
